New Jersey's Republican candidate for governor insists he'll spend the night before his first debate at a Bruce Springsteen concert. Chris Christie tells The New York Times that Wednesday's show at Giants Stadium offers him an escape. He says he's been a lifelong fan, even though he and the Boss don't agree politically. Christie has attended 120 Springsteen concerts. His roommates in college once set certain hours during which he could play Springsteen. Christie was appointed U.S. attorney in New Jersey by President George W. Bush. Springsteen endorsed Bush's Democratic opponent in 2004 and Barack Obama in 2008. Springsteen's manager Jon Landau says the New Jersey resident has no plans to make an endorsement in the governor's race. Gov. Jon Corzine says he's seen about a dozen Springsteen shows. ___ Information from: The New York Times, http://www.nytimes.com
