Thorogood Joins Thunderbirds For B.B. King Blues Fest Dates

(6/5/02, 1 p.m. ET) -- Guitar rocker George Thorogood and his band the Destroyers will join the Fabulous Thunderbirds and Joe Bonamassa for this summer's B.B. King Blues Festival.
At last month's BMI Awards, where Thorogood saluted Bo Diddley with three classic numbers, he talked to LAUNCH about keeping that rock-and-roll dream alive.
"I ran into Peter Wolf a couple of years ago and he said, 'George, I'm gettin' my dream together.' I says, 'What's that?' 'I'm puttin' together a new record, I'm gonna get a good band, I'm goin' on the road.' I said, 'New dream?! You've been dreaming about that since high school, so have I.' I don't care how many gold records you have on the wall, that's always what's in the works--another record, another tour, you say, 'Aw, forget about what I did last year, wait'll you see me next time.'"
The B.B. King Blues Festival opens in Oregon at the start of August and wraps up with a big finish in September at the Hollywood Bowl. Tour dates (subject to change) are as follows:
