(3/28/01, 6 p.m. ET) -- Members of Styx and Bad Company were on hand at the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame Wednesday (March 28) to announce a co-headlining tour. Bad Company frontman Paul Rodgers and all six members of the current Styx lineup were joined by Billy Squier and young blues-rocker Joe Stark to reveal the details of their 40-show outing, which kicks off May 10 at the Blossom Music Center outside Cleveland and is scheduled to wrap on July 14 at the World Music Theatre in Tinley Park, Illinois.
LAUNCH asked Bad Company drummer Simon Kirke why he thinks people are always excited to see a Bad Company show, and he said: "We play good songs, (and) we play them well. I think that's always been the strength of Bad Company, is its songs. You know, we, we don't put on any flashing, multi-laser, exploding midgets, you know? We (laughs), we just tend to get up there, almost understated, and, and rely on our own ability to come across."
Styx and Bad Company will return to the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame on May 7 for an acoustic concert, which will be open to anyone with a paid admission ticket that day with no additional charge. A portion of the proceeds from the tour's ticket sales has been earmarked for the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame.
